I agree, I think Visual Studio .NET is another good example of what
you are talking about. All of its windows are dockable and form
tabbed-columns or rows so you can easily switch between them.
I don't belive any of the GUI toolkits provide a good framework for
doing that kind of design, so anyone who wanted to emulate it would
have to write all the window-managing stuff from scratch. It would be
nice too have all that stuff built-in to the toolkit (like it is for
MDI).
