Linux is a kernel. A linux based distribution, like Red Hat, Mandrake,
Gentoo, etc, is a collection of software. Software doesn't ignore anything.

You should notice that many (most?) individual Linux software developers
wrtie software to solve problems. Obviously, the lack of a driver for YOUR
device isn't a big enough problem. And since none of the coprorate
developers are writing the driver either, it doesn't seem like there is
much of a demand.

As for Office Depot ... I got my epson scanner, my sandisk ram drive, and
my epson printer and my TV tuner card at either OfficeMax or Staples. All
 work with Linux.
