Could anyone point me towards any API reference for programming the
linear framebuffer? The Framebuffer-HOWTO points to
http://www.linux-fbdev.org, but this appears to be dead.
I'd really like information about what all the fixed and variable
information does, what all the ioctls do, and what the layout of all
the different pixel formats are. Also, if any operations can be
accelerated, that would be nice.
Currently I've got FreeType2 to render graymaps and I can draw these
onto the framebuffer quite nicely, but it's non-portable because I
assume a 32 bit pixel layout (RGBA).
Thanks,
Roger
