Hi there,

With the chance to start a pointless discussion :
What is a good tool / language to start writing linux apps ?

I have written many apps on the Windows platform (using
Clipper,VB,Perl,C++)
I started using Linux about a year ago and i want to start writing apps
for the linux platform.

Please don't reply with minor details like C++ handles RAM such and so
and is the best blah blah .

I seek the following things in a development tool.
* Wel documented / supported.
* Good IDE
* Version control enabled (RCS/CVS)
* Productive / fast development.

Thanks for any input,

Robert
