Hi,
For my current application I need to switch off the keyboard delay.
According to the manpage of kbdrate the delay is a range between 250 and
1000 ms for Intel platforms. Clearly the delay cannot be lower than 250
ms; the manpage claims this is hardware dependent.
With X however it IS possible to switch it off; for example, using the
Gnome Keyboard Configuration Panel, it can be switched off completely,
so, when pressing a key, the key will start repeating it's ASCII value
without a delay after the first character. I guess this is the case
since Xterm, GnomeTerminal and friends are some kind of terminal emulation.
Is there a way to do the same thing on a plain Linux console?
Regards
Peter
