There are less difficult ways to shoot oneself it the foot.

To the OP: try compiling again without '-Wall', but you're
on your own on the quality of the generated code. If you do
not correct the discrepancies in the sources, do not come
whining about misbehaving code. The signedness blunders do
not usually show with test material containing small numbers,
but in real world they are mines waiting to be stepped on.
