Writing Xinput driver?



Has anyone got any tutorial-type information on writing and adding an
xinput driver to X windows?

I've got a Numonics graphics tablet here which it'd be nice to have
working - I got to the stage of writing some code to read the binary
stream from the tablet and decode it into X/Y movement and button presses,
but I'm getting the impression it's a lot of work (at least from what I've
seen of the Wacom driver source) to go from there to something that
actually integrates with X.

(unfortunately the Numonics tablet doesn't support any Wacom protocols)
