Hostile? I am merely pointing out that recommending something with no
recent first hand experience is misleading to say the least.

There was nothing missleading. In his very first sentence he clearly
stated to have no recent experience with anjuta:

I used it briefly, a few years ago, and it seemed ok.

So where's the problem?
