WORKAROUND FOUND: Application Cannot Find Its Libraries

In the very unlikely event that any of you who showed a mild interest in
this matter were possibly losing sleep because of the problem presented,
the workaround, but not the solution, was to copy the libraries reported as
"not found" from their locations variously scattered under a user's $HOME
tree to the directory /usr/lib, a path apparently always referenced by the
link editor.
Yes, the application ran once that was done.
If any of you come up with a true solution rather than just this
workaround, I would appreciate a notification from you. This problem has
stumped those with more experience with a command line interface than mine.
