Debian package without any dependencies or pre-dependencies

I am using Debian. If I create a package without any dependencies or
pre-dependencies, do I just omit the Depends and Pre-Depends fields from the
source control file, or do I have to use values like "Depends: None" and
"Pre-Depends: None".
Please advise.
Mark.
