Hello all,
I'd like to set two ethernet cards with the same configuration on my server. The main idea is that should a network card fail or stop working properly, the other one replaces it. Is it feasible? Could you please give some hint, i.e. keywords to look for in google?
You're looking for "bonding" and "failover".
"Bonding" refers to combining two (or more) network interfaces into one virtual interface. It can be done for performance purposes (combining two 100Mbps interfaces into one 200Mbps interface provided that your switch supports this) or for fault-tolerance purposes (use one interface until it fails, then switch over to the other interface, again your switch must support this).
