On a shell prompt type:
cat<Enter>
<RightArrow><Enter>
<Cntrl>+<RightArrow><Enter>
<Cntrl>+D
^[[C
-bash-2.05b$
Which makes it pretty obvious that your problem has
nothing to do with Emacs
or Linux... (but I have already told you that yesterday)
I tried it on the system console and it worked fine. When I
am running it from a vt100 terminal emulator, and $TERM is
set to vt100 it does not work. How can I make this work on
the vt100 terminal emulator?
Well, the answer is kind of obvious, but:
- get a proper terminal emulator
- make sure it's configured correctly
Without any configuration, it works fine for me with konsole in KDE.
And with xterm. But not with Eterm or screen; maybe some terminfo
tweaking is needed. You haven't mentioned which you are using, nor
any other pertinent details. However, I suggest you take this to a
more appropriate group--this isn't about application development, it's
about a trivial configuration problem with your terminal.

Roger
