add-on/ or app to help dyslexi children learn to read

I'm 48 years old now but still struggle with this. Best I can
describe this disability is if you were driving to the store and had
to back up half a block and than go forward again every quarter mile
or so how this would be a nuisance. Or if you had to constantly
consciously think about each word you are reading, like say the way
you did the first time you got on a bike or the first time you tried
driving a stick shift. Or if you've ever tried to learn a new
language. Reading never seems really to become second nature.

My idea is and I believe a product could be made that might be so
useful it would overlap into the general population is:

Basically to have a little ruler shaped transparent rectangular box
that "snaps" to each line of text as you move the mouse down so it
would essentially be like holding a ruler underneath a line of text on
a book. You would actually be reading the text inside of the
transparent rectangle or "ruler". It would be much wider than one line
of text you could move a mouse back and forth inside or just under the
rectangle (as your moving down also lines of text) to actually put
your cursor over the particular word your reading.
A second component that wouldn't be necessary would be a notepad like
reader that would pick up the main text off a webpage and
automatically change the font's to a preset size and type and format
(with and legnth of text). In addition it would not pick up the hyper
links as links but plain text to ease the distractions on the users
concentration.

This would of course be great for people like me that have to a large
degree overcome this disability, but would have a profound effect on
children trying to overcome this impediment.

Any suggestions of where I could post this message and get exposure to
developers that might make this idea a reality would be appreciated. I
claim absolutely no rights to it.
