Linux and LRPC (or even COM)

Hi,
I wanted to know if Linux has a native implemenation of LRPC
(Lightweight Remote Procedure Call) or even COM (most probably not).
The reason for asking about this is given in:

I have implemented the requirements listed in post mentioned above
using message queues. But I get it that it's a no-no.
