Is there a similar kernel command line incantation for keyboards?
I have a similar problem with a Linksys 2-Port KVM (PS2KVM2). Linux
2.6 keyboard serial driver i8042 doesn't detect my keyboard. I have
to plug in a keyboard directly to the PS/2 port. After sacrificing
this goat, linux finds the keyboard and I can hot-swap in the KVM
again. Everything is fine after that. Since I don't reboot all that
often it's not *that* big a deal but it is annoying.
Another wacky data point is that with newer kernels or X (since later
linux 2.4 or xfree86 4.2 I think) the mouse wheel now works through
the above mentioned KVM.
I have an older Linksys at home (for which there is no keyboard hotkey
to switch KVM) which has no problems at all. Curiouser and curiouser.

Is this a job for something in /proc/sys? Is there some consensus
about how to fix this?

Sigh. Thanks.
