serial driver -16552 uart

I am having a mulitiport serial card with PC16552DV UART.
The linux serial driver(Version 5.05c) is identifying it as
ST16650,and is not enabling the FIFO mode..
Is this a bug is serial driver ??? Any ideas and suggestions on how to
properly identify the UART ??
