Hello,
Reading through orinoco.c and hermes.c, it seems to me that
the "hard_start_xmit" function "orinoco_xmit" is presented with an
fully-built Ethernet frame (802.2 or 802.3). This frame is then
written to the firmware by calls to the underlying hermes "driver".
The firmware then slaps a LLC PDU header followed by MAC frame header
and then a Physical Layer header and sent over the "air". is this
scenario correct? Is payload of LLC PDU a Ethernet frame (possibly
encapsulating a IP datagram ... in turn possibly encapsulating
a UDP datagram or TCP segment)? Any other details are appreciated,
e.g. what layers of 802.11 are the firmware controlled by
hermes driver responsible for?
Regards, Vasili
