In this case, I would suggest that you check the partitions
first. From what you've written, it seems to me that this
is _not_ a problem with the filesystem used, but possibly
indicates that Windows and Linux disagree on the layout
of the partitions on the disk (that is, either the CHS
settings or the mapping used are not identical). What does
your BIOS tell you about the drive's physical and/or logical
settings?
