I try to compile xfree86 4.4.0 on a redhat 7.0 with a 2.4.26 kernel and
it crashes. I have the latest ncurses installed and it has something to do
with dependencies. Does anyone know what can be wrong with compiling from
scratch? I would like to compile the graphic environment and not have to
download the binaries. I', using gcc-2.96 as I haven't compiled a newer
gcc-3.4.1 yet. Also I can't get anywhere compiling the 2.6 kernel. It starts
out with errors.
Bill
