    Hi,

I guess that Linux does some sort of caching of disk partition table info. I
need a way to have the kernel rescan the partition table of either all disk
devices or a single disk device and update the partition table info from the
tabel on disk. I'm guessing that I should look at the sources for fdisk as
fdisk does this. I'm looking for other methods too.

Why does Linux store the partition info in memory.

Also, what are good newsgroups for getting latest info on Linux storage
    development.

    Thanks,
    Don
