I'm not going to be too much help, but I can verify a similar problem
with my 2.4 to 2.6 switch and a Logitech TrackMan Marble+ and my KVM switch
When I boot, everything is fine, and if I switch away from Linux (to Solaris)
and back, the mouse is incredibly jumpy, and even if I don't press any buttons,
I get buton-press events.
If I unplug the mouse and plug it back in, everything straightens out.
I don't know how to fix it either.
