I am planning on hooking up a car tachometer to my computer. I know you
can buy a version to put in, but I thought it would be better to make
it myselft. I found out that tachometers work via alternating current
and pusles to tell the rounds per minute of a car's engine. I was
going to use a serial pin to activate this pulsing idea. But does it
matter that the tachometer uses alternating current, or does it matter
at all?
