Recently I've been doing a lot of grepping through the kernel source
2.4.22 trying to figure out if the framebuffer drivers support Vesa
Advanced Feature Connector standard. Google isn't giving me much
decipherable information. Basically been studying all the source,
comments, and documentation that I can get my hands on.
I cant seem to find any source files which include the documented control
codes either as ioctl()s or system calls. Maybe I'm just looking in the
wrong place.
The documents I'm referring to are located at
http://www.vesa.org/Public/VAFC/
Do these still need to be added?
I'm guessing these functions have implemented on all Vesa compliant video
cards manufactured in the last six to ten years.
I suppose I could take a shot at adding support for it myself. A VAFCL
driver/module anyone?
Basically, I want access to my cards accelerated primitives directly from
the framebuffer console. Not necessarily ALL of them, the VAFC functions
will suffice for now.(Using a Matrox G400).
I dont suppose theres a way to use these functions directly from
userspace. Using matrox_proc perhaps?
Any help would be appreciated.
