Diskdump support in RHEL 4 Update1

I want to use the diskdump functionality in RHEL 4 Update using
Adaptec aix78xx card. I am getting few errors in using the diskdump
driver functionality in this kernel 2.6.9-6.37

1. The sanity_check returns an erorr with "No sane dump device found"
message.
2. The stop method of disdkump.sh util is not stoping the diskdump
process on Adaptec device /dev/sda.

If any one come accross these issues pls help me.
