I finally got it back up and running today. I had a Creative 12X
DVD-Rom go marginal on me, dying a slow death.
As of today, I am on Xandros 3.0 OCE on my dual boot Celeron
1700. It was the only distro copy I had in CD, couldn't load
Debian Sergeant 3.1r0a because I had it on two DVD's.
BTW, does anyone know how to solve the problem with using a
GE labeled Jasco Products HO97986 optical mouse?
(http://www.jascoproducts.com) As soon as linux loads and
seems that the X server starts up, the mouse underside LED
stops glowing and mouse acts dead. I put the Belkin mouse
back and the ball mouse works fine. Mouse is psaux.
Xandros is an off-shoot from Corel Linux base on Debian. I'm
still learning how Xandros and Debian does things, as I am
more familiar with SuSE. SuSE uses YAST and YAST2 to do a
lot of the configuring, I haven't figured it out yet with
Xandros. However I'm up and operating on the net now, so
part of the battle is won.
Web pages and mail load smoother and a little quicker than
with WindersXP.
What is the utility that Xandros uses to modify hardware
settings in X-Windows?
