Hi people
I'm in the process of writing a minimal device driver for a floppy controller for a custom made OS. Only the minimum required functionality is expected from the driver. Hence, I am in search of a document that gives a complete algorithm for the disk operations of seek, read and write. I would be really glad if someone could mail it to me or give a link (anything!). My idea is that the document must contain information related to the motor operation too, such as the wait period for spin-up / spin-down and stuff like that. Any kind of information is welcome.
Why can't you just use the floppy driver from your Linux distribution?
Maybe because that's GPL-ed?
