What is max cpu's for x86 in stock 2.6 kernel

Is there someplace in the 2.6 kernel source where there is a limit of the
max number of x86 cpu's it will use? ie: something like #define
MAX_ALLOWED_CPUS
I'm just curious as to how many cpu's a stock 2.6 kernel will support
I grepped a bit but didnt see anything definitive.
