pointers

hi all,

Not the C type, but to some docs etc.

Im interested in being able to write to my graphics card directly, without using X etc. Just a bit off fun realy as i have a spare and old pc laying around so i thought i may as well do something interesting with it.

Basically im interested in how linux enters 'graphics mode' and then how to get pixels -> lines > shapes -> solids onto the screen.
(careful with that, i dont want any mess)
