Detecting a variable is currently in RAM or in OS swap?

Dear all,
Is it possible to check, without modifying the kernel, that the memory
occupied by a variable (or an address) is currently residing in RAM or
inside the OS swap partition without actually accessing it (and cause a
major fault)? Many thanks!
Best Regards,
LaBird (Benny).
