i am trieng to learn how to write usb comunication with gadets.
i thought about starting and working with gadget driver but then i had
been told that this module need to actually see a device .
so i am searching for some program (it will be better if it be in user
space but i don't mind if not) that will tell the kernel that a new
device had been connected to the kernel (ill be happy to have the
abuilty to change that values of product ID and Vendor ID )
Then why don't you just buy a simple USB developer's kit? That way you can
experiment with a real device. There are a number of inexpensive kits with
programmable firmware so you can do what you want. http://www.quickusb.com
sells several. http://www.osr.comsells one with a sample Windows driver
that could easily be manipulated from Linux.
I thought about that but i live outside the US and does kits are not
so common here.
and to make purchase tru some credit card (Visa ?, MasterCard) i need
to have a speical card in the bank (more then 2000$ on my account).
i have posted here the story here about trieng to buy a usb gadget
(this will proboably imply on ubb kit also)
http://bsh83.blogspot.com/2007/09/usb-programming.html
this is not intersting it just me making some thoughts about the
buying process
Also note that, with libusb, you don't actually need to write your own
kernel mode driver.
