DNS lookup how ?

where can i find some sourcecode to implement a gostname to ip adr lookup.
My embedded coldfire device does not support dns lookup ,so i need another
way to do it.

i hate to use ip addresses in configuration files, and need the hostname
approach.

Is there some sourcecode available to solve my problem ?
