Hanging Mandrake Linux 9.1 during fixation

I have IDE CD-burner TEAC CD-W552E.This burner is working well in
windows with Nero burning.But when i try to burn data-CD using
X-CD-Roast 0.98alpha13(come with Mandrake Installation CD) in
Linux,everytime maching is hanging.I can only do to turn off The
Power!.The IDE cable of Burner is not on the cable of hard disk.I have
not been used cdrecord.I don't know well how to use command line tools
and i'm newbie to Linux.
           Another problem with linux OS is my printer Canon
i320.Anybody know the driver for this printer(i mean free driver9 (:
).If I would fix this two problem,i can kick out windows.BTW I love
Linux.
