I was recently given a similar Compaq as a present, it sounds almost
identical, except mine is a 2.4GHz machine, an S4000NX. I've got RH9
on it, and am using it to send this message. I'm quite pleased with
it.
The RH 9 installation was quite simple, the video and audio were
recognized and worked immediately.
I did add another 256M of RAM though, 128 seemed a little skimpy.
Would I go and buy one myself? I'm not sure. I usually build my
machines from parts so I know exactly what I'm getting. But this
Compaq has been a pleasure so far.
On a similar note, I've set up several Dell's at work, and have had no
trouble with them either.
