Hi guys!
i am currently running RH9
the redhat-network tool is not able to detect my external usb
elsa 56k modem (even that on boot up the modem module is detected and
configured by KUDZU)
But manually i am able to communicate with it (using wvdial) on the
/sbin/usb/ACM0 port. After enabling the acm module i try to run wvdial
but the modems seems not to dial properly, and finally terminates with
error meassages, like "no carrier". I figured out that
a similar discussion was going on
in
https://www.redhat.com/mailman/private/redhat-ppp-list/2003-June/msg00012.html
but I could not figure out whether you find a solution to the problem
described?
So since i am new to all this usb modem stuff, I wonder if one of you
can help and tell me whether there a ways to get the x-window network tool
to recognize my modem or whether there are convenient
ways to do a successful dialup with the elsa microlink 56k usb modem., maybe
via wvdial.
Help is appreciated and cheers,
alexander.
