Hey,
I won this Nike-Philips mp3 player from a radio station. It's a cool
piece of hardware, but no linux support. I figured I'd try to reverse
engineer it myself. I'm pretty comfortable with c, but have never done any
kernel hacking before. I started reading this Linux Device Drivers book
(the O'Reilly one) and I'm pretty confident that I can at least find all
the information needed to actually write the driver, but I need to figure
out the commands, i.e. do the actual reverse engineering. It seems to me
that the easiest thing to do would be hook it up to windows with the
provided driver and get a piece of software to keep track of the data sent
back and forth between the system and the player. Anyone know of any
free-as-in-beer software to do this?
