Toshiba Satellite 4000CDS Soundcard - Debian (2.4.18)

i am trying to install my soundcard under debian - without success. when i
try to install the driver for my card (some kind of yamaha) in modconf, it
says that installation has been abortet because there is no such device.
then i tryed to use the sb pro driver (at sndconfig) but when i play
something it sounds realy horrible.
lspci does also not list my card.
can someone help me please?
