I'm using xsane, sane with an Epson perfection 1650 scanner.
I seem to remember when I was first trying it after installing
Red hat 9, the lamp would turn off after some amount of time
since the last scan. But now it seems the bulb burns all the time.
I don't want the bulb to run all the time
since it must have a finite life span. The work around is
to unplug the scanner (which sucks) all the time when
I'm done. Is this some kind of limitation in the Epson,
I thought the epson was one of the best supported?
