Thanks. It does look like the problem is the accumulation of stuff
under the keys with some worse hit than others. Shutting down the
machine being inconvenient at this point I removed the "a" key and the
"escape" key and after removing what looked like tobacco and some
nondescript greyish stuff - I didn't bother using Q-tips & alcohol or
anything because with just two keys removed it just wasn't worth the
trouble.. Well it does take a while longer to reposition the keys
than removing them.. but now the "a" key works about he same as the
other "good ones".. So that keyboard is probably in good condition
and just needs cleaning.
Wish there was some detailed Howto about laptop keyboard
rejuvenation.. Actually I'm pretty sure I read one a couple of years
ago but have not been able to find it again.
