I don't know the "facts" of this but I can relate some personal
experience. I have now several times run into a problem setting up
Master/Slave drives on a few computers with Western Digital drives. I
could only get them to be detected in the BIOS properly by jumpering
them to "cable select". I have no idea if this is a controller, BIOS
or drive issue so take it with a grain of salt. If all else fails, try
it!
