debian doesn't recognise harddisks on asus p4c800 deluxe

Hello,

i first tried redhat 8.0 with the promise drivers from asus website, but no
luck redhat doens't recognise my harddisks, now i tried debian iso (little)
image install but he blocks at the recognition of my sata harddisk what can
i do?
