I have just installed RH 9 on a HP Compaq D530 ultra slim desktop.
(The box is a dual boot with WinXp) . The box doesnt like my soundcard
at all .
My Output of lsmod is :

When I run sndconfig it recognises the card as Intel Corp.|82801EB
AC'97 Audio, but craps out saying that it is not supported. WinXP
works well with the card (recognises it as SoundMax).
Tried alsa . but it did'nt work (i reckon i did not do it right . )
Does Somebody has any idea's ? I am at my wits end .
I am not even sure wether i looked up at the right card at alsa . I am
also attaching the output of my dmesg. Pls Help !
