Hi.
I've got an HP Colorado 4GB IDE DAT tape drive install on my Linux box
running RedHat 9.0. Everything working well after I add the "ide-scsi" mod
on device /dev/st0 or /dev/nst0.
My problem is when add a second tape drive. The drive is a Compaq (made by
Freedom) 4GB SCSI DAT tape drive. I saw both in my /etc/sysconfig/hwconf :
For the Colorado
class: TAPE
bus: IDE
detached: 0
device: hda
driver: ignore
desc: "HP COLORADO 8GB"
For the Freedom
class: TAPE
bus: SCSI
detached: 0
device: st
driver: ignore
desc: "Hp C1533A"
host: 0
id: 4
channel: 0
lun: 0
generic: sg1
But when I try a "cat /dev/st0" or "cat /dev/nst0" I get the error message :
cat: /dev/st0: Input/output error
When I try "mt -f /dev/nst0 erase" the process stop responding for hour and
hour.
For the first drive, I've just install it in the pc, add the scsi-ise
module, configure amanda to use /dev/nst1 and everything work well..
Help me please.
