ACPI Lid Events

I'm running acpid, and have all my ACPI support turned on. In
/var/log/acpid it says it's loading my rules, one of which is:

event=button LID.*
action=/etc/acpi/actions/lid %e

But no matter how many times I open/close the lid, there's nothing in
the acpid log to reflect that an event was detected. Am I missing
something obvious?
