For IDE-SCSI emulation, you need:
SCSI-support, SCSI-generic support, SCSI-CD-ROM support
Then you need to add an append a line to your LILO config:
On older kernels (<= 2.4.18): append="hdc = ide-scsi hdd = ide-scsi"
On newer kernels (>= 2.4.20): append="hdc=scsi hdd=scsi"
My suggestion - install a newer kernel on your machine, and you'll
probably have much better luck. 2.4.16 is rather outdated now...
Then running a bus scan with XCD-ROAST will generally pick up the drives
as SCSI.
