I'm planning on buying a Creative Labs Audigy 2 ZS, and after doing some
research on it's driver support/quality, I'd like to get some additional
information here.
- From what I gather, the Audigy 2 ZS is supported with the EMU10K1 driver
in the kernel. Additionally, there are drivers for the ALSA sound
system. How well do these drivers work?
Do they offer the full 7.1 speaker support (front, side, rear, center
speakers and subwoofer?) Are there any stability issues with the
drivers? What is the sound quality of these cards with the EMU10K1/alsa
drivers? Does anyone have any experiences?
I know Creative Labs has embraced open-source drivers *to an extent* ..
but I'd like to hear what others think before I spend money on this.
Thanks a lot.
