Hi,

Using motherboard (asus a7n266) with the above chipset (not by choice)
and am experiencing problems with ethernet.

If its connected to our network then the machine will boot fine
everytime, however if its not connected then it'll either hang on
bringing in eth0 or when starting apache or xinetd. When I say hang I
mean hard hang - power off is the only thing that'll fix it - unless
the lan cable is plugged back in again.

I've played around with the optimization setting and sometimes the
problem goes
away sometimes not - just when I think its fine I experience a lockup
again.

Another thing I've seen is that if another machine appears on the
network with the same address (ok not something that should really
happen) then once again the machine will sometimes lock up hard.

I've never ever had problems like this with regular linux ethernet
device drivers and was not keen on having to use the nvidia supplied
ones - but there's no choice.

Has anyone else had these kind of problems and know a solution?

Cheers,

Glen
