I wouldn't expect Linux to deal with OC3 physical layer. The adapter should
receive POS
which is PPP over SONET. The PPP frames should be sent over the PCI bus
into the kernel.
I would expect Linux to see this adapter as a PPP interface.
The adapter has to extract the PPP frames and send them over PCI bus.
