Hi!
I am a newbie in Linux.
I have a Toshiba Satellite 1900-101. I use Mandrake 9.0 with kernel version
2.4.19-16mdk
Unfortunately, for a newbie like me, Mandrake did not recognize it.
So I decide to configure the modem myself. I googled it, and it seems that
Toshiba uses a Lucent
chipset (correct me if I am wrong).
I found that I should install the slmdm-2.7.9.tar.gz drivers.
However, the compilation does not work properly.(yes I have installed the
kernel headers, I am not so newbie
:-) )
Before spending more time on the compilation, I would like to ask if I try
to install the right drivers or
not?
In case not, does anyone knows if there exist any drivers out there, or am I
doomed to dial-up using the
Windoze installation?
Thnx in advance,
John
