Hello!
I tried to clone an audio CD with cdda2wav and cdrecord. The copy
process works fine and the resulting CD can be played sequentially from
the beginning to the end. But my standalone CD player can't skip
directly to any tracks. At least it takes to long to find the track or
the beginning of the track is missed by a few seconds.
I used:
cdda2wav dev=$SRC speed=4 -paranoia -vall -B
and
cdrecord speed=4 dev=$DST driveropts=burnfree -v -dao -useinfo *.wav
The log contains only one warning:
...
cdrecord: WARNING: Drive returns wrong startsec (0) using -150
Writing pregap for track 1 at -150
Starting new track at sector: 0
...
A few thoughts:
- The Standalone CD player isn't the source of the problem, because I
tried to different ones.
- I tried different source CDs and different blank CDs (including
Verbatim/Mitsubishi)
- The firmware of my cd writer (TEAC CD-W512B) is the most recent one 2.0K
- I was able to copy audio CDs with the same hardware and cloneCD
(running WinXP).
I would appreciate any hinto r alternative copy method.
Thanks!
