Hi,
since i upgraded to kernel 2.4.25 i get the following log-entries when i
start microcode_ctl:
Mar 26 07:34:50 www kernel: microcode: collect_cpu_info : sig=0xf29, pf=0x2,
rev=0x0
Mar 26 07:34:50 www last message repeated 3 times
Mar 26 07:34:50 www kernel: microcode: error! Bad data in microcode data
file
Mar 26 07:34:50 www kernel: microcode: Error in the microcode data
what does this mean? /etc/firmware/microcode.dat is the most recent version.
We've got many hardware problems on this server (dropping connections every
20 Minutes). We also had these problems while running on kernel 2.4.22 and
microcode_ctl doing fine (without the errors mentioned above).
thanks in advance
Gernot
I'm running the following system:
Dual Xeon 3GHz MSI: MS-9214
Lan: 2 INTEL Dual Gigabit LAN (82546EB)
fedora 1 with kernel-smp-2.4.25
